Question:
Is a transfer of an employee from one job to another a right of the employer?
Answer:
If the transfer is provided in the employment contract then the transfer is in order. However, if the transfer is a punishment, the employee may claim for being constructively dismissed or 'victimisation' and may seek for remedy under Section 20 of the Industrial Relations Act 1967.
